How our clinical psychologist can help you?

Poor mental health can have a significant effect on your quality of life. From problems with weight loss through to the debilitating effects of anxiety, there are many different conditions which can leave people feeling defeated, guilty and unable to cope. Looking for a psychologist in South Melbourne? Reach out to the team at [insert name] today.

Seek help from our anxiety psychologist

There are many types of anxiety disorders, from generalised anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder to phobias and PTSD, but most of them are driven by similar underlying processes. If you easily feel overwhelmed by your emotions, and experience particularly negative reactions to difficult or unpleasant situations and feelings, then our anxiety psychologist may be able to work with you. Our psychologist is trained in diagnosing these disorders and can teach patients ways to deal and cope with their anxiety. Through cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), an anxiety psychologist can also help you learn how to manage and identify any underlying factors.

If you suffer from addiction, depression, relationship problems or learning difficulties, a clinical psychologist may be able to help. Clinical psychology involves treating behavioural, emotional and mental health disorders, using talking therapy alongside "exercises" which patients practise and complete between sessions. Treatment may be completed in just a few sessions or be a longer-term option. Our clinical psychologist is trained to work with people of different ages to reduce distress and exclusion and enhance an individual's psychological wellbeing.

Treatment will usually begin with an assessment of your needs, behaviour and abilities using a variety of methods, followed by therapy and any necessary treatments for the issues outlined above.

Are you suffering from social anxiety?

Social anxiety disorder refers to an overwhelming or long-lasting fear of social situations. Usually starting in an individual's teenage years, it can have a huge impact on your life if you do not seek help and support. However, there is nothing to worry about - social anxiety is very common and there are numerous treatment options available. Our social anxiety psychologist will work with you to understand your behaviours, feelings and symptoms in order to advise on the best treatment method.

The team at CityMed is here to help you no matter your personal situation or circumstances. To learn more about clinical psychology and how we can support you, please get in touch with us today.
