Dr. James Xavier is a dual-trained specialist with Fellowships in both General Practice (FRACGP) and Emergency Medicine (FACEM). With a dynamic medical background, he divides his time between CityMed and a busy metropolitan emergency department, bringing a wealth of acute care experience to his general practice patients.

Before his medical career, Dr. Jimmy served in the military and remains an active member of the Royal Australian Air Force reserves—sometimes called away at a moment’s notice for national duties. This diverse background has shaped his calm, decisive, and thorough approach to patient care.

Dr. Jimmy is passionate about all aspects of medicine and is a lifelong learner, continually upskilling to stay on top of the ever-evolving medical landscape. He has formal qualifications in child health, public health and tropical medicine, trauma care, and aeromedical retrieval—making his skill set both broad and deep.

He enjoys seeing a wide range of presentations in general practice, from preventive health to complex cases, and is valued by his patients for his clear communication, down-to-earth manner, and clinical excellence.
